Cinnamon. Pumpkin. Nutmeg. Clove. Apple.
Previous Post: Fall Time Faves (Introduction)
When I think of fall… I want all the warm, cozy smells and scrumptiously inviting food!
Those smells that just pull you in and make you want to stay all day! That food that gives you a hug from the inside out!
Sadly, here in Wisconsin… despite it being the middle of September, it doesn’t really “feel” like fall… at all. But, I’m ready! 🙋🏻♀️
I know, I know… (technically) we haven’t gotten to the “first” official day of fall. Which by the way, is so close! September 23rd!!
I’ve been sooooo ready, cooking up some of my faves!
Today, I made…
Hot Buttered Apple Cider & Pumpkin Muffins with Cinnamon Sugar Crunchy Topping
Hot Buttered Apple Cider takes me right back to my very first job in the little town of Mukwonago, WI. I worked at a farm kitchen bakery, The Elegant Farmer! They are famous for their “Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag.” And naturally, located on an apple orchard, fall was the busiest time of year. Hundreds and hundreds of people would come to pick apples, go on hayrides, make caramel apples, and eat tons of tasty treats!
One of my favorites, Hot Buttered Apple Cider, was the perfect drink to warm you up and make you feel right at home.
*Now this is not the Elegant Farmer’s recipe! All of their recipes are TOP secret and besides… when I worked there I wasn’t old enough to work back in the kitchens, so I have no idea what their recipes actually entail.*

Another fall fave, without a doubt is… pumpkin ANYTHING! 🙊
Pumpkin, for some reason, just screams FALL!
And my favorite is Pumpkin Muffins with Cinnamon Sugar Crunch Topping!

These are just two of my faves… I hope you can enjoy the season as much as we are!!
xoxo,
Dana
Sounds delicious 😊
