Autumn. Fall. Harvest.
The crisp nip of the wind, a little reminder that winter is coming. Leaves crunching beneath the weight of each step. The smell of cinnamon apple pie steaming beneath a perfectly golden glazed crust. Bundled up in layers of clothes. Fuzzy flannel blankets to keep warm at the Friday night football game.
Fall is here.
It’s an end to summer’s sweet memories and a beginning to the anticipated cheer of the holidays.
Of all the seasons, fall is my FAVORITE!
I have found that so many of the things that have become my “favorites,” are so because they remind me of precious memories.
And fall… well, I don’t know about you, but it immediately takes me back to high school. It takes me back to Friday night football games, the spirit of homecoming week, the excitement of bonfires, car smashes, and dances.
It takes me back to a simpler time where my only worries were what I was going to wear the next day, how I was going to do my hair, what grade I was going to get on my next test, and if I was going to get into the college of my dreams.
The transition of fall is one that I don’t resist, but welcome with open arms. It’s a transition of breathtaking change with the trees painting gorgeous colors before our eyes. It’s a modulation that can only be orchestrated by God.
Over the next month, I will be sharing posts on a few of my Fall Time Faves:
- Harvest Recipes
- Fall Layered Fashion, and
- Autumn Family Fun
But until then, layer up. Grab a cup of your favorite hot drink. Walk outside. And enjoy… the fresh crisp air, the changing leaves, the pumpkins. Soak it all up because winter is coming and snow will be here before we know it!
xoxo,
Dana

This is my daughter, Nora! She loves being outdoors. She is trying to feed the dog a leaf that has just started to change Autumn Blaze Red.

And meet our dog, Millie, a Basset Hound/Shar Pei Mix. She is running into fall
